01/ RESEARCH
I go beyond the visual to understand the strategy and technical details behind a product. When I get into a new industry, especially when working with difficult technology, I want to know it all. I deep dive into industry knowledge and sometimes will do user research to make sure I fully understand user needs.
02/ CONCEPT DEV
In my concept design process, I work collaboratively with developers, sales and other stakeholders to make sure that my concepts address core user needs and also take into account any existing code.
03/ PROTOTYPING
In the prototyping phase of design, I'll create designs in flows or animations, ensuring that they are easy to understand and walk through with a developer team. As we get into the groove of working together, prototyping will likely evolve based on team needs.
04/ TESTING
In the testing phase of design, ideally I'm able to concept test with core users to make sure they understand how to use the product and then take their feedback into account. I will try hard to make sure that we don't just get a finished product, we get the right solution.
05/ FINALIZE DESIGN
In the final stage of design, I document thoroughly and make sure that a company feels totally prepared. Whether I'm handing off to another designer or saving it for a future collaboration, I make sure everything is seamless.
06/ RETROSPECTIVE
For me, it's important to regroup from time to time and get client feedback so I know how best to improve in a project. Typically my projects range from a couple months to multi-year. I am adaptable and always willing to learn new methods and modes of communication.
